Abstract
The main biological characteristics of the wild and cultivated strains of Cordyceps militaris during successive transfer culture were observed.The results indicated that the biological characteristics of Cordyceps militaris changed distinctly with the increase of culture generations.The mycelial growth rate slowed down,the colony color gradually faded with the appearance of colony sector,the sporulation decreased dramatically,and the ability of fruiting body formation degenerated or even failed to form.To prevent the degeneration of Cordyceps militaris during culture,the transfer time of the strain on artificial media should be as less as possible.
