Abstract

To observe the effects of recombinant human stellate cell activation-associated protein(rhSTAP) on liver fibrosis induced by CCl4 in rats, the liver fibrosis model in rat was established by using CCl4.In early intervention group with rhSTAP,the drug was given in the whole process of model replication. In the treatment group with rhSTAP,the drug was injected to rats at the seventh week after the first administration of CCl4.The activities of ALT,AST and contents of HA in rat serum were measured. The content of hydroxyproline in rats liver was measured too.The histopathological changes were observed under light microscope. In the rhSTAP groups, serum levels of ALT,AST and HA in CCl4-treated rats were significantly reduced(P0.01,P0.01,P0.01).The content of hydroxyproline was remarkably reduced(P0.01).The pathological improvements were observed. In groups of rhSTAP,degrees of inflammatory activity and fibrogenesis in liver tissues were markedly reduced respectively compared with the model group. The formation of liver pseudoluboli was alleviative. rhSTAP can inhibit the liver fibrosis in CCl4-treated rats apparently.
