Literature Study on the Regularity of TCM Prescriptions on the Hepatic Fibrosis

Objective To study the regularity of TCM prescriptions on the hepatic fibrosis.Methods Using China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) to retrieve the literature dealing with the clinical and experimental studies on TCM treatment for hepatic fibrosis during the period of January 1990 to January 2010 for a statistical study on the using frequency of Chinese medicines to analyze and summarize the regularity of TCM prescriptions.Results Totally there were 80 literatures enrolled,of them,44 concerning about the clinical study and 36 about animal experiment,and 136 Chinese medicines involved in all.In the literatures of clinical study,the first two kinds of medicines treating the hepatic fibrosis used in prescription were tonifying medicine (27.76%) and activating blood to dissolve stasis medicine (23.62%),the highest using frequency.Those medicines over l% in using frequency were 8 ones for activating blood to dissolve stasis,7 ones for tonifying,3 ones for clearing heat,2 ones for removing damp to promote diuresis,and one fore relieving exterior syndrome,purgative,arresting bleeding,promoting digestion,and regulating qi circulation respectively.In the literatures of experimental study,the most-frequently used medicines treating the hepatic fibrosis were tonifying medicine (30.54%) and activating blood to dissolve stasis medicine (26.60%).Those medicines over l% in using frequency were 7ones for activating blood to dissolve stasis,8 ones for tonifying,3 ones clearing heat,2 ones for removing damp to promote diuresis,and one for relieving exterior syndrome and purgative respectively.Conclusion Tonifying medicine and activating blood to dissolve stasis medicine are the basic ingredients of prescriptions treating the hepatic fibrosis.The main compatibility of prescriptions is the clearing heat medicine,removing damp to promote diuresis medicine,relieving exterior syndrome medicine,purgative medicine,arresting bleeding medicine,promoting digestion medicine,and regulating qi circulation medicine.
