Correlation analysis of personality characteristic on life quality in patients with chronic alcohol dependent

Abstract
Objective To study the effect of the personality characteristic on the quality of life in patients with chronic alcohol dependent and provide a basis for nursing intervention measures.Methods 59 cases of chronic alcohol dependent were chosen as the study group,and 53 cases of local citizens without alcohol abuse were selected as the control group.2 groups were surveyed with Eysenck personality questionnaire(EPQ) and the generic quality of life inventory-74(GQOLI-74).Results The scores in EPQ-P and EPQ-N of the study group were significantly higher than that in the control group.The scores in GQOLI-74 of the study group were significantly lower than that in the control group except the material life score.The total score in GQOLI-74 were negatively related to the scores in EPQ-P and EPQ-N,and positively related to the scores in EPQ-E and EPQ-L.Conclusion The personality characteristic of patients with chronic alcohol dependent were abnormal.Their life quality were affected by their psychological characteristic.Psychological interventio according to their psychological characteristics can improve their mental health and quality of life.
