Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of recombinant tissue plasminogen activator(rTPA)in acute cerebral infarction(ACI).Methods One hundred twenty-eight ACI patients(stroke onset within 6 h)were randomized into treatment and control groups. The control were treated with conventional therapy, and the treatment group with additional rt-PA besides conventional. The results were comparatively evaluated by CSS and Barthel index(BI),before treatment or day 90 after. Results There was no significant different in CSS scores and BI between treatment group and control before treatment(P0.05),but there was after treatment(P0.01).Significant difference was noted in therapeutic effect between 2 groups.Urethremorrhage with gingival bleeding(GB)was found in 1 patient,GB in 1 in treatment group, and urethremorrhage with GB in 1,GB in 2 in control group. Conclusion Application of rt-PA within 6 h of stroke onset is efficient and safe in ACI patients.
