MMP13 expression and its relationship to primary thyroid tumor

【Objective】 To detect the matrix metalloproteinase 13(MMP13) expression of primary thyroid tumor in mRNA and protein levels and the relationship with the disease.【Methods】 MMP13 expression in 62 pairs of matched thyroid carcinoma and adjacent normal tissue was detected by RT-PCR,western Blot and immunohistochemistry.【Results】 ①RT-PCR showed that 62 cases of thyroid cancer MMP13 mRNA expression level was significantly higher than normal tissue(P 0.05).②Western-blot test results showed that MMP13 in anaplastic thyroid cancer and differentiated cancer tissues was significantly higher than their corresponding adjacent normal tissues(P 0.05).③Immunohistochemistry results showed that 62 cases of thyroid cancer,total positive rate of MMP-13 was higher than normal tissue(P 0.05);Undifferentiated carcinoma MMP13 expression was higher in differentiated carcinoma,the difference was significant(P 0.05).Thyroid carcinoma with lymph node metastasis group was significantly higher than the expression of MMP13 lymph node negative group(P 0.05).TNM staging,MMP13 expression level of high-stage group(Ⅲ~Ⅳ stage) was higher than low-stage group(Ⅰ~Ⅱ period),the difference between groups was significant(P 0.05).There was no significant difference between MMP13 expression and patient gender and age(P 0.05).【Conclusion】 MMP13 is closely related with type and lymph metastases of thyroid tumors and thyroid cancer progress,reflecting the pathological changes.
