Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical values of serum C-reactive protein(CRP),albumin(ALB) and prealbumin(PA)in assessing the severity and the prognosis of patients. Methods CRP,ALB and PA levels of 60 patients suffered from severe diseases in ICU were measured on the 1st,3rd,5th and 7th day.According to prognosis, the patients were divided into death group and survival group. Results No significant difference was found in the levels of CRP and PA on the 1st day(P0.05),but the levels of CRP in death group were higher than those in survival group on the 3rd,5th and 7th day(P0.05).The levels of PA in death group was much lower at the same time(P0.05).The levels of ALB had no significant difference in two groups from the 1st to 7th day(P0.05).Conclusions Continuous high level of CRP and low level of PA indicate unfavourable prognosis of patients suffered from severe diseases.
