Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of angiotensin Ⅱ type Ⅰ receptor blocker (AR1B) on remodeling of collagen in myocardial infarction(MI) rabbits. Methods Twenty-four hours after left anterior descending coronary ligation,New Zealand white rabbits were randomized to 3 groups:V group (valsartan 10 mg.kg -1 .d -1 ),C group (control group) and S group (Sham group).Ten weeks after administration, the myocardial collagen content, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP),and left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) were measured. Results Collagen contents of IZ and NIZ had a significant increase in C group compared with those of S group.Above parameters were reduced by treatment with valsartan.NIZ collagen content had a significant correlation with LVEDP.Conclusion (1)AR1B attenuate postinfarction collagen remodeling, and improve hemodynamic parameters.(2)NIZ collagen content is one of the important factors in worsing cardiac function.NIZ collagen content had a significant correlation with LVEDP.
