Abstract

Using a M-2000 wear machine, the tribology properties of C/C composite with rough lamination/smooth lamination/resin carbon(RL/SL/RC) matrix and two kinds of high-strength graphite which were used as seal ring of airplane engine main axis were studied with GH4169 alloy as couple. The results show that the friction coefficient of high-strength graphite was 0.23?0.28,while that of the C/C composite was only 0.11?0.18 under pressure of 60?180 N.It indicated that compared with the high-strength graphite, the C/C composite had lower and more stable friction coefficient, smaller bulk worn loss and more suitable to be used as the seal ring of the main axis of aeroplane engine.
