Abstract
Objective To study the serum levels of tumor necrotic factor-a(TNF-a) and C reactive protein(CRP) and their significance in patients with acute pancreatitis(AP). Methods The serum levels of TNF-a and CRP were determined in the patients with moderate acute pancreatitis(MAP) and severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) of hospitalization at 1st?4th?7th?14th day, and the results were compared with healthy subjects. Results The serum levels of TNF-a and CRP in patients with SAP were significantly higher than those of MAP, and the results of MAP group was significantly higher than that of healthy ones(P0.05). The serum levels of TNF-a and CRP showed positively correlated(r=0.7124,P0.05). Conclusions It suggests that serum levels of TNF-a and CRP are closely correlated with AP and are helpful to predicting the prognosis of acute pancreatitis
