MIB Implementation in EPON

Abstract

Ethernet passive optical network(EPON)is one of the most effective ways for broadband access.The network management is essential to improve the interconnection between EPON devices and to provide EPON system with carrier-class capability.This paper briefly describes the Management Information Base(MIB)which is proposed in EPON system.Then it presents that the agent on Linux system can be developed,thus the management of EPON system through simple network management protocol(SNMP)can be realized.
