Abstract

According to the characteristics of pathophysiology and clinical features of diabetic non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, combined with traditional Chinese medicine theories of viscera, etiology and pathogenesis theory,it proposed spleen deficiency causing liver stagnation and phlegm-blood stasis hypothesis. It believes that the disease is caused by evils, improper diet, emotion disorder, improper labor or rest, physical weakness and other causes. The pathogenesis is spleen deficiency as the fundamental and liver stagnation, blood stasis and toxin converted into each other is the surface phenomenon. Spleen deficiency is the basis of the pathogenesis and liver stagnation creates conditions for the development of the disease. The blood stasis and toxin are both pathological products and important pathogenic factors. Blood stasis maybe transforms into the toxin and toxin can also produce blood stasis. They influence each other, converting into each other. This is a vicious cycle. They work together to promote the occurrence, development and conversion of the disease. The nature of the disease is weak. All above provides an important theoretical basis of TCM treatment for the disease.
