Abstract
Seven strains of Bacillus were isolated from the rhizosphere of banana.These isolates and one strain of Pseudomonas fluorescens,one strain of Bacillus subtilis,one strain of Streptomyces violaceusniger,were tested for their antagonistic effect towards the banana fusarium wilt pathogen,Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense race 4 in vitro.Among the ten strains tested,P.fluorescens,B.subtilis,XP,BS,XFL showed good and steady effect in inhibiting the mycelial growth of Foc.race 4 and the mix of P.f.and XP was the most effective.
