Abstract
The ceramic coatings were obtained by micro-arc oxidation of hot-dipped aluminum coatings on stainless steel. An aluminum coating was firstly formed on the surface of stainless steel by different hot-dipped aluminum techniques. Then the aluminized stainless steel was treated by micro-arc oxidation when the current density was 20A/dm2.By observing cross section metallography of ceramic coating, the effects of Hot-dipped aluminum techniques on the thickness of the ceramic coating were studied. The results show that thickness of the ceramic coating notably increases when stainless steel is treated by the pretreatment which is helpful to the thickness of the hot-dipped aluminum coating.
