Abstract
Objective:To study the expression of CDK4 in astrocytes and neurons of rats after focal cerebral ischemia.Methods:Twenty-five rats were randomly divided into sham-operated group and ischemia group at day 1,3,7 and 14 after reperfusion. The focal cerebral ischemia models were generated by temporary middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).The expression of CDK4 in astrocytes and neurons were measured by flow cytometry. Results:When compared with the sham-operated group, the expression of CDK4 in astrocytes and neurons were significantly up-regulated on the ischemic side of cerebral cortex at day 7 and day14 after cerebral ischemia reperfusion(P 0.05).The CDK4 expressed in neurons was higher than that in astrocytes in sham-operated and day 7 after cerebral ischemia reperfusion(P0.05).Conclusion:The expression of CDK4 in astrocytes and neurons were up-regulated after focal cerebral ischemia.
