Abstract

Objective To discuss the correlation between the stenosis degree of the left anterior descending(LAD) coronary and the structure and function of the left ventricular with 256-slice CT. Methods Patients(age range, 50 ~75 years; mean age, 62 years) whose test result were normal and simple left anterior descending stenosis were indluded. Then, according to the stenosis degree, the patients were divided into four groups: normal(n = 60), mild stenosis(n = 29), moderate stenosis(n = 19), and severe stenosis(n = 11). Single factor analysis was performed to analyze the correlation between the stenosis degree and the structure and function of the left ventricular. Results No difference was found among the four groups of ESV, EDV, SV, and EF. And the left ventricular mass index(LVMI) of the severe stenosis group was significantly greater than the normal group and mild group. The end diastolic wall thickness of the moderate and severe group was thicker than the normal group in mostly segments. The end systolic wall thickness among these four groups had no significant difference. Conclusion Severe stenosis degree of the LAD leads to the increase of LVMI, moderate and severe stenosis result in increased end-diastolic wall thickness in mostly segments. The different stenosis degree of the LAD has no effect on the ESV, EDV, SV and EF.
