Calculation and Analysis of the Collectable Rainwater Resource Potential in Yangqu County

Abstract

According to the daily rainfall data of 46years from 1960to 2005in Yangqu County,this paper analyzed the inter-annual and annual changes of rainfall as well as the distribution of rainfall and precipitation days under different levels of rainfall intensity, and finally calculated the collectable rainwater utilization potential of different years through various underlying surface type,area and runoff coefficient in surveyed region.The results indicated that the average annual rainfall of the area for many years is 430.4 mm.Although the domestic water and irrigation water is lacked,there exists a certain intensity collectable and storable rainfall, which proves the necessity and feasibility of developing rainwater harvesting agriculture in the region.
