Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of edaravone injection as adjuvant treatment for patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage. Methods Ninety one patients with acute cerebral hemorrhage were randomly divided into control group(n=45) and observation group(n=46).Patients in both groups were provided with primary treatment for cerebral hemorrhage, and patients in observation group were additionally given with edaravone. The indexes such as hematoma volume, edema volume, neurologic impairment scores and total effective rates of patients in these two groups were compared before and after the treatment. Results The hematoma volume and edema volume in patients of both groups were significantly reduced after treatment and the neurologic impairment scores were significantly decreased after treatment. The scale of improvement in such indexes and the total effective rate in patients of observation group were distinctively higher than those of patients in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Edaravone in treatment of patients with cerebral hemorrhage caused by hypertension can be helpful in absorption of hematoma and remission of peripheral edema as well as improvement of the life quality of patients. Therefore it is worthy to be extensively recommended for clinical application.
