McNamara cephalometric analysis for Shijiazhuang adolescents with normal occlusion

Objective:To establish the norms of McNamara analysis for Shijiazhuang adolescents with that of normal occlusion by using McNamara analysis. Methods: McNamara analysis was conducted on the basis of the laterial cephalograms from 62 11-to 13-year-old Shijiazhuang adolescents with normal occlusion and the obtained data were compared with those of Shanghai and Chengdu.Results: In Shijiazhuang adolescents group, the effective maxillary length, the effective mandibular length,the anterior facial height were larger in male than that in female. The effective maxillary length, the effective mandibular length,the anterior facial height were larger in Shijiazhuang than those in Shanghai and Chengdu,while the Nasion perpendicular to point A was smaller. Conclusion: The normal range and the craniofacial linear characteristic of Shijiazhuang adolescents with normal occlusion were obtained with McNamara analysis. The linear parameters of McNamara analysis are comparable.
