Abstract

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of fleroxacin in the treatment of bacterial infectious disease, and compare with ofloxacin. METHODS: A total of 67 patients were randomly divided into two groups. Thirty five patients (M 24, F 11; age (46± s 12) a) in treatment group were treated with fleroxacin 0.2 g, iv, gtt, qd for 7 14 d. Thirty two patients (M 23, F 9; age (48±13) a) in control group were treated with ofloxacin 0.2 g, iv, gtt, bid for 7 14 d. RESULTS: The clinical effiective rate of fleroxacin group and control group was 91 % (32/35) and 84 % (27/32), respectively. There was no satistical significant difference between two groups ( P 0.05). But bacterial elimination rate of the fleroxacin group (94 %) was higher than that of control group (84 %) ( P0.05 ). The adverse reaction rate of fleroxacin (6 %) and ofloxacin (9 %) was simlar ( P 0.05). CONCLUSION: Fleroxacin is effective and safe in the treatment of bacterial infections. The effect of fleroxacin is as similan as that of ofloxacin.
