The Concepts and Practices of Landscape Planning in Landscape History A Case Study on Garden Kingdom of Dessau W rlitz

English landscape garden caused a profound revolution in the history of landscape architecture in Europe. With the emergence,development and dissemination of landscape garden, landscape planning has affected cities and regions in a new way with new concept,which produced enormous impaction on the development of landscape planning, city planning, and regional planning. Taking Garden Kingdom of Dessau W rlitz as an example, this article analyzes the constitution of the Garden Kingdom and its achievement on regional development. The article also demonstrates the concepts and practices of landscape planning in landscape history, holding the idea that landscape planning in this period took landscape garden as the carrier and brought comprehensive improvement to the economy as well as the society, pushing an integrated development to the region. At the end, the article discusses about the certain enlightenment of ideas and practices of landscape planning for Chinese landscape planning practice.
