Abstract

This paper introduced the development of landscape planning in America from the 1880s to 1940s.It also discussed the concept of landscape planning and summarized its characteristics of different periods and practice fields.The definition, development and influences of urban beautification campaign,landscape planning, pastoral city and regional landscape planning were underscored.
