On-demand Zopiclone Treatment of Post-stroke Insomnia

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of on-demand Zopiclone treatment on post-stroke insomnia and its adverse reactions.Methods A total 80 post-stroke insomnia patients were randomly assigned to groups study(n=40) and control(n=40).The study group were treated with on-demand oral zopiclone tablets,7.5 mg/time,the control with continuous oral Zopiclone Tablets,7.5 mg/d.The course lasted 4 weeks.The effects and adverse reactions were evaluated by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Treatment Emergent Symptoms Scale (TESS).Results The effects of group study were similar to that of control (P0.05).No rebound insomnia,withdrawal reactions and dependence on drugs were noted in treatment course.There was significant difference in TESS between 2 groups (P0.05).Conclusion On-demand zopiclone treatment of post-stroke insomnia,safe and effective,provides a better treatment options with fewer side effects.
