Abstract
In the research of the content change of Radix scutellariae before and after the extraction of Radix scutellariae, the water as six times as the drug material was to extract the effective composition of Radix scutellariae, extracting twice and 1.5 h each time.HPLC method was adopted to determine and compared the baicalin content of the Radix scutellariae and the extractive residue.Determination showed that the baicalin content in extractive drug residue was(70.3%) of total baicalin contents of Radix scutellariae. Most of the baicalin left in the drug residue. It is concluded that using water can't extract baicalin from Radix scutellariae efficiently and the extraction technique of Radix scutellariae should be improved to reduce the industrial waste.
