Abstract
The effect of lightly shading(20% and 40%shading)on chlorophyll content and growth of Festuca rubra was studied. The results showed that the content of chlorophyll a chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll were increased significantly after 60 days shading treatment and total chlorophyll content in 20% and 40% shading treatments were increased by 8.80% and 10.87% respectively. The ability of tillering and the biomass were also increased along with the shading intensity, and the total dry matter per plant in 20% and 40% shading treatments were increased by 15.46% and 35.00% respectively. Moreover, the shading treatment increased the plant height and plant water content(76.39% in 40% shading treatment).
