Abstract

The differentiation of physiological races and the classification standard of watermelon wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.niveum), together with the use of molecular marker for the selection of Fusarium wilt-resistance,were reviewed. The mechanism and the inheritance of resistance to the disease were also summerized. The advances on breeding of resistant materials and resistant varieties were discussed at the same time. Based on these above, the further development of watermelon breeding to Fusarium wilt-resistance was discussed and reviewed as well.
