Abstract
The effect of quenching technology on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 27SiMn steel was studied.Experiment turns out that the strength and hardness of 27SiMn steel which was quenched in 830~930 ℃with zero holding time, increase with quenching temperature going up,and then begin to fall down above 930 ℃.The fine lath martensite was obtained in the 27SiMn steel after zero holding time quenching, which are due to the fined austenite grain and the non-uniform density of carbon in austenite. The mechanical property of 27SiMn steel cylinder heat-treated with zero holding time(910±10)℃ quenching and(630±10) ℃ tempering can meet the technology needs.
