Expression of VEGF,bFGF and their relationship with MVD in esophageal carcinoma

[Objective]To study the relationship between VEGF,bFGF and MVD in esophageal carcinomas.[Meth- od]The expression of VEGF,bFGF and MVD were detected by immunohistochemical method in 68 cases of esophageal carcinomas(observation group)and 39 cases of normal esophageal tissue(control group).[Results]The expression of VEGF,bFGF and MVD in the observation group was higher than that of control group.The expression of VEGF and bFGF and MVD in different grades of esophageal carcioma had no significant difference,but the expression of VEGF,bFGF and MVD was correlated with invasive depth and lymphatic metastasis.They were increaed in those with the under-muscular layer invaded and lymphatic metastasis.MVD was increased with the increasing of VEGF and bFGF.[Conclusions]The expression of VEGF and bFGF is positively correlatled with that of MVD in esophageal carciomas.VEGF and bFGF can be one of the prognostis factors of esophageal carcinoma.
