Abstract

The Miao-Yao ethnic dress,with its rich and profound connotation,has unique ethnic cultural characteristics.Starting with dress culture and applying Semiotic theory,the article takes up a comparative analysis on the common characteristics of the shape and color of Miao-Yao ethnic dress’s visual symbols in Yunnan with the view to revealing the deep cultural connotation of the ethnic history,spiritual pursuit,value orientation deeply deposited in the Miao-Yao Ethnic dress.
