Abstract
Using the remote sensing data and according to the model of land use dynamic change and analysis of land use spatial pattern, this paper studied the process of land-use changes in Luota area of western Hunan province in different periods. The results showed that the proportion of forest land and water land was too small, while the proportion of dense shrub,shrub,shrub-grass,bare soil grass was too large. In the change speed of land-use,dense shrub, shrub, bare soil grass have been increasing while shrub-grass has been decreasing, others have been relatively steady. In the change of land-use level,land-use has shown an overall declining trend. In the land-use of spatial pattern, diversity index and homogeneity index took on an increasing trend while dominance index took on a decreasing trend.
