Abstract
Objective To create a new rapid and stable method in building chronic atrophic gastritis model in an animal.Methods 40 healthy and sexually matured rats were randomly divided into control group and gastritis model group.The model group rats could drink freely sodium deoxycholate and low concentrations of anhydrous ethanol,along with the regularly intragastric administration with high concentrations of anhydrous ethanol and irregular diet.The modeling time was totally 13 weeks.Results After 13 weeks,no death was found in the two groups.The average net growth of the rats from model group was(95 ± 29) g,and the average thickness of their gastric mucosa was(236 ± 7) μm.Both of them were significantly lower than that of the control group 〔(149 ± 29) g and(398 ± 11) μm respectively〕.Modeling succeeds.Fur of rats was less luster and bodies were smaller in model group than in the control group.Gastric morphological of rats from model group were dilated,and their gastric folds were flattened and even disappeared.Pathological examination showed that gastric mucosal glands of the rats from model group were significantly reduced and disarranged.Conclusion Synthesis method is quick,stable and economical in building chronic atrophic gastritis model with a high success rate and low death rate.
