Abstract
Thirty SSR(simple sequence repeats) primer pairs which comes from 439 SSR that disperse on 12 chromosomes in rice were used to study genetic diversity among 12 indica rice(Oryza sativa L.) varieties.29 of 30 SSR markers generated polymorphic bands,revealing 96.7% polymorphism.A total of 137 polymorphic bands were detected among 12 varieties,The number of alleles(A) per locus range from 2 to 8 with an average of 4.7 alleles.Average effective allele number per locus(Ae) varied from 1 to 5.539 with a mean lever of 3.47.Shannon's index(I)per locus averaged 0.651 and was various from 0 to 0.819.Result from cluster analysis shows that all cultivars could be classified into 2 groups,and this indicated SSR markers play an important role in ecotype classification and study of genetic diversity.Consequently,SSR markers could be used as a useful tool for measuring genetic diversity,assigning rice to geographical distribution,and analysing its ecotype.
