Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the minimal erythema doses (MED) of narrow-band UVB among the normal persons in Nanjing, and observe their relationship to sex, skin types to sunlight, age, etc. Methods:MED of narrow-band UVB and broad-band UVB were measured by using a sunlight simulator respectively. One hundred and three healthy volunteers were involved in the study. Results:MED of narrow-band UVB was 661.2 ± 183.3mJ/cm2. It was related to skin skin types but not to the other factors. Conclusions:The MED of narrow-band UVB in this study is close to the previous data, 600~800mJ/cm2, according to the overseas reports. Although the MED of narrow-band UVB is not related to sex and age distributions, it is related to the skin types and the MED of broad-band UVB.
