Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical significance and expression of cell adhesion molecules E-cad-herin in non-small-cell lung cancer. Methods The levels of E-cadherin were examined in 52 specimens of non-small-cell lung cancer by immunohistochemical technique. Results Among the 52 specimens, the expression of E-cadherin was 28 (53.8%); E -cadherin expression levels were correlated with invasiveness, differentiation, TNM staging and lymph node metastasis (P 0.05), which was not related with prognosis. Conclusion The examination of E-cadherin in non-small-cell lung cancer can help to evaluate its invasiveness, histological differentiation,TNM staging and lymph node metastasis.
