Abstract
Ecological environment protection and exploitation and utilization of water resources in arid and semi-arid land is one of the hottest research topics. In this paper, from the point of realizing sustainable development of economy and society, the author analyze the characters of water resources, present situation of water resources exploitation and utilization, and main eco-environmental problems in Shaanxi part of Weihe river basinOn the basis of this, the causes of water resources shortage and eco-environmental deterioration were pointed out. Meanwhile,counter measures for exploitation and utilization of water resources and eco-environmental protection are proposed.
