Abstract
Two maize hybrids were selected from two salt-tolerant lines(‘81162'and‘8723')and one salt-sensitive line(‘P138').The germination potential, germination rate, the growth of embryo radicle, vigor index and salt damage index were determined under NaCl stress treatments at 0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4and 0.5mol/L.The results showed that all the indices(except for the salt damage index)decreased with the increase of NaCl concentrations. Both of the two maize hybrids showed the maximum degree of harmful effect caused by salt in the 0.5mol/L treatment. The hybrid‘81162'בP138'had a stronger tolerance than‘81162'בP138'.
