Abstract
[Objective]The effect of the NaCl stresses on maize seed germination and seedling growth was studied.[Method]Maize varietyNongda No.108 being taken as the experimental material, the eight concentrations of NaCl affecting maize seed germination and seedling growth was experimented.[Results]The germination rate, the height and weight of seedling, the number, length and weight of root of maize were significant downward trend as the NaCl concentration increasing. The reaction of the height of plant and the length of root of maize seedling were most sensitive to the NaCl stress and the tolerance of maize seedling in number and weight of root to NaCl stress was strong.[Conclusion]The reaction of the different positions of maize to NaCl stress varied.
