Application of performance evaluation in nursing management

Objective To probe into the effect of application of performance evaluation in nursing management. Methods The standard for performance evaluation was regulated according to nursing posts. All nurses took part in management and were examined and fed back by nursing administrators and head nurses. Results There were significant differences between the two years of 2003 and 2002 in the respects of nursing quality, nursing accidents, patient's satisfaction, teaching satisfaction by ?字2, t test (P0.01), indicating the nursing quality was increased in 2003. Conclusion The enforcement of performance evaluation is effective in increasing nurse's professional level, enhancing the nursing quality and patient's satisfaction. What is more, it promotes the formation of learning and competitive surroundings in the nurse team.
