Values of resistance indexes of uterine artery and umbilical artery in prediction of adverse perinatal outcome

Objective:To evaluate the predictive values of resistance indexes of uterine artery and umbilical artery of patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(HDCP) for adverse perinatal outcome.Methods:83 patients with HDCP were analyzed and followed up till after delivery,adverse perinatal outcome was gold standard,ROC curve of resistance indexes of uterine artery and umbilical artery was drawn,and the areas under ROC curve were calculated.A multivariable logistic regression analysis was carried out on the basis of adverse perinatal outcome as dependent variable,blood pressure,24-hour proteinuria,resistance indexes of uterine artery and umbilical artery as independent variables.Results:The areas under ROC curve for resistance indexes of uterine artery and umbilical artery were 0.707 and 0.647,respectively,the ORs were 6.27 and 2.42,respectively.Multivariable regression analysis showed that resistance index of uterine artery was the unique index to predict adverse perinatal outcome,OR value was 6.95(the confidence interval was 2.23～21.66,P=0.001).Conclusion:Abnormal resistance index of uterine artery is an effective index to predict adverse perinatal outcome,which is superior to that of umbilical artery and can be used as a monitoring method for patients with HDCP.
