Abstract
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of spiral CT in female pelvic tumors. Methods Fifty-six female patients with pelvic tumors were analyzed retrospectively. All cases were performed CT scanning and B-ultrasounography, and the results were confirmed by pathological examinations. Results The coincidence rate of the diagnosis for teratoma was 100% with thinner CT scanning. For the diagnosis of cervical carcinoma, cystadenoma, and carcinoma of the ovary, spiral CT was superior to B-ultrasound. For the diagnosis of endometrial carcinoma and leiomyoma, B- ultrasound was slightly better than CT. Conclusion Owing to its high density resolution, thinner CT scanning has remarkable advantages in the diagnosis and grading of female pelvic tumors. CT Scanning should be conducted routinely for those suspected pelvic tumors.
