Abstract
On the basis of investigation and literature review on national key protected wild plants in northwest Yunnan, the species composition, number and distribution characteristics of those protected wild plants were analyzed. The study results were as follows: 1) There were totally 41 national key protected wild plants distributed in northwest Yunnan, belonging to 38 genera and 30 families;2) The horizontal distribution showed the tendency of decline from northwest to southwest,Gaoligong mountain was the key area of distribution;3) The vertical distribution scope was very wide, with the valley mid-montane moist evergreen broadleaved forest of 1 000~2 500 m as the main distribution vegetation. The study results could provide some theoretical basis for policy making on biodiversity conservation in northwest Yunnan.
