Abstract

Objective To study the prevalence and related factors of fatty liver among midaged retired workers.Method The results of physical examinations, including the medical history, height, weight, fasting blood glucose(FBG),blood pressure, blood lipid, blood uric acid(UA) and ultrasound in 2476 midaged retired workers were analyzed. The prevalence of fatty liver and its related factors were compared by stratified sampling according to gender and age. Results In 2476 cases of midaged retired workers, the total prevalence rate of fatty liver was 35.82%(88.7 cases),the prevalence rate of fatty liver in the female was significantly higher than that in the male(39.58% vs 33.27%,P0.01).Blood pressure, body mass index(BMI),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),FBG,UA in fatty liver group were significantly higher than those in group without fatty liver(P0.01).HDL-C in fatty liver group was significantly lower than that in group without fatty liver(P0.01).The prevalence rates of overweight, elevated fasting blood sugar, high blood lipids, hypertension, hyperuricemia in fatty liver group were significantly higher than those in the group without fatty liver(P0.01).Conlusion The incidence of fatty liver is high in midaged retired workers, especially in old women. The gender, age, blood pressure,BMI,TG,TC,FBG,UA are significantly associated with the prevalence of fatty liver.
