Abstract

Objective To assess the prevalence and relevant factors of fatty liver in health examination subjects. Methods The results of health check-up of 1 161 subjects were analyzed by SPSS 11.5.Result The prevalence of fatty liver rate was 22.05%,being 27.79% for males and 12.44% for females. The incidence of fatty liver was increased with age.The incidence in males was significantly higher than in females(P0.001),The incidence of those older than 60 years old was decreased. The mean age,BMI,waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting serum glucose level,TG,TC,LDL-C in the fatty liver group were significantly higher than those in the group without fatty liver but for HDL-C(P 0.001).Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the prevalence of fatty liver was only positively correlated to eight risk factor, including TG,waist circumference,BMI,fasting glucose level,LDL -C,diastolic blood pressure, age and sex. Conclusion The incidence of fatty liver is high and it is higher in males than in females. The risk factors for the fatty liver were associated with hyperlipidemia, obesity, fasting hyperglycemia, hypertension, age and sex.
