Abstract

Objective To discuss the relationship between peripheral white blood cell counts and clinical manifestation in acute phase of cerebral hemorrhage.MethodsWBC count was measured with fingertip blood within 12 hours after admission, and the relationship between WBC counting and hemorrhagic volume and site, critical degree of patients were observation.ResultsThe mortality rate in patients with increasing WBC count was higher than that with normal WBC count. The increase of WBC count was obviously in patients with extensive basal ganglia hemorrhage but not lobar hemorrhage as compared with other parts(P0.05),especially the patients with hemorrhage volume more than 50 ml(P0.01).ConclusionThe increase of WBC count in acute phase of cerebral hemorrhage predicts the severe condition and high mortality rate, and can be used as one of clinical indexes to evaluate the prognosis.
