Abstract

Being closely combined with the Xinjiang' facts, the article expounds the eco economic classification for 87 cities and counties of Xinjiang through the application of major element and poly class analyses. First, set up a target system; second, select original data in use of major element analysis; third, draw a plan for the eco economic classification in use poly class analysis. In the last of it, the paper respectively makes an analysis and summary of the eco economic conditions of the ten classes. It is concluded from the analysis that the general level of eco economic coordinated development of Xinjiang is not quite high, and there is apparent difference between south and north--the level of Northern Xinjiang is higher, while the one of Southern Xinjiang is relatively lower. There is such difference because the Northern is better than the Southern in the basic conditions of natural resources, traffic, science and technology, manpower etc. Spatially, the units of same type are not only gathered, but also relatively dispersed, which makes them not collected into a whole region. It is reflected that the general level of eco economic coordinated development of Xinjiang is to most degree depended on its own regional conditions, but human factors such as environmental pollution, industry and mining industry partly result in the difference of units belonged same geographic location, which causes the types of Xinjiang'eco economic coordinated development have the feature of diversity. The research provides scientific basis not only for systematically learning and assessing the coordinated conditions of eco economic development of Xinjiang, but for the planed and emphatic formulation of the sustainable development of Xinjiang
