Visual Analysis of Papers Published in China Safety Science Journal from 1991 to 2012

For the sake of understanding the features of the literature published in China Safety Science Journal and the journal's development process,this paper used visualization software Cite Space II which is a Java-based platform to draw the map of scientific knowledge using the literature published in the journal during 1991 to 2012 as the basic data. The analysis contained two parts. First,the distribution of research effort and researchers of CSSJ were revealed through the visual analysis of knowledge maps of scientific research institutions the contributors worked in and paper authors. Second,hot fields and development trend of CSSJ were studied through the visual analysis of keywords co-occurrence. The results showed that:( i) Average number of the published papers in each year was small but showed a growing trend.( ii)From the point of scientific research institutions,Beijing Jiaotong University was on the top.( iii) According to the analysis of research fronts based on keywords frequency,CSSJ has been the most authoritative academic journal in the field of safety science and technology in China.
