Abstract

Although China has become the largest fabrics manufacturer and exporter in the world, China's textile and clothing industry has strictly restricted by the quota system in the international market. With the termination of the quota system on January 1st, 2005, the global textile and clothing industry came into the newly-era of free trade. What chances and challenges will be posed for China's textile and clothing industry by the termination of the quota system? How to optimize and relocate the resources in the international textile and clothing industry? In order to improve the international competitiveness, the paper will put forward international strategy for China's textile and clothing enterprises on the basis of resource-based view, analyze the state of international textile and clothing market and identify the advantageous resources of textile and clothing enterprise. And finally the paper conceives the international strategy for China's textile and clothing enterprises in the era of post-quota, and includes two strategies named exporting strategy and foreign direct investment.
