Abstract
Comprehensively utilizing optical microscopy、scanning and transmitting electron microscopy, this paper systematically studied the Development of female and male gametophyte of Lonicera edulis L.The results were as follows.1.Anther wall development followed the fundemental type, and the tapetum was amoeboid.Simultaneous cytokinesis in the microspore mother cells followed meiosis and the microspore tetrads were tetrahedral.Pollen grains were 3-celled when shed.2.The surface of stigma had a lot of papilla cells; the style was long and thin;there had many anatropous ovule in the ovary which was inferior;cytokinesis accompanied meiosis and the chalazal megaspore of a linear tetrad developed into a Polygonum type embryo sac
