Abstract

Traditional paraffin sectioning method was used to observe the development of megasporore, microsporore, male and female gametophytes. The result showed:(1)the anther has four chambers and the development of anther wall is elementary type, which is composed of epidermis, endothecium, has 1~2 middle layers and one tapetum layer. The tapetum belongs to glandular type;(2)The cytokinesis of microspore mother cell in meiosis is simuteneous, and most of the tetrad are tetrahedral, decussation is also observed;(3)Empty pollen grains are observed at the stage of haploid nuclear microspore;mature pollen grain is 2-cells;(4)Ovule is anatropous, bitegminous and crassinucellate, micropyle is formed by the inner integument. The megaspore mother cells undergo meiosis division to form a linear tetrad, and the chalazal megaspore is the functional one,the embryo sac is 'Polygonum type'.
