Abstract
The study on the degradation of four kinds of triphenylmethane dyes including malachite green,brilliant green,fuchsin basic and crystal violet was investigated by employing sodium percarbonate as an oxidant.The results showed that,under the optimal condition of pH 11,20℃and 10mg/L sodium carbonate,the decolorization rate of brilliant green could reach to 95% within 20min.By comparison,it was found that sodium carbonate also displayed excellent decolorization capacity towards other three kinds of triphenylmethane dyes,implying that sodium carbonate is a potential decolorant for triphenylmethane dyes.Moreover,the possible degradation mechanism of malachite green was proposed.
